Bharti Airtel Also Providing Relief Services to Assam Flood Victims by Providing Free Talk Time and Data

Sunil Bharti Mittal led telecom operator, Bharti Airtel has also come ahead in Assam to help contribute to the relief of the citizens who have suffered from the recent floods in the area. To note, Vodafone Idea has also made a similar move in the area for its subscribers to help them stay connected during these times and to maintain proper connectivity so that people can reach their loved ones. Like Vodafone Idea is providing free data and calling benefits to its subscribers. Similarly, Bharti Airtel will also be offering free data benefits to its customers in around 30 districts in the state. Not only this, but the Airtel customers in the area will also get calling benefits as well.

Airtel Offering Free Talktime and Data Benefit to Subscribers

Airtel in its release has announced that mobile customers in the affected districts will get free credit of talk time along with 100MB to 5GB data in their accounts with extended validity to ensure that they remain connected with their loved ones and can stay online. For Postpaid customers the bill payment dates have been extended. Airtel’s aim with this move is to provide relief to its customers so that they don’t have to worry about connectivity. The areas of North Eastern India, majorly Assam have been badly afflicted by floods, which has led to a lot of people to migrate from their places. In such a situation, the subscribers are likely to want to stay in touch with their relatives, and Airtel will help the customers in doing so.

Airtel Boasts of Robust Network in North East India

It is worth noting that Airtel has a robust network in all North Eastern states, including Assam. It is a leading mobile operator in Assam, and its network teams are working overtime to ensure that the network connectivity is normal across flood-affected areas as telecom is a major lifeline for millions of customers.

About this new move for the relief of flood victims in Assam, Mr Sovan Mukherjee, COO – North East & Assam, Bharti Airtel said, “As one of Assam’s leading mobile operators and a responsible corporate citizen, we have taken this initiative to support the efforts of the government and the administration and ensure that citizens continue to stay connected in the time of this natural calamity.”

Airtel being one of the leading telecom operators in the country, has also been vigil when it comes to situations like these and natural calamities. The telecom operator has helped the subscribers stay connected with their loved ones during such times like in the case of Cyclone FANI as well. The Cyclone FANI claimed lives and damage to property in the state of Orissa, and during those times as well, Airtel set up war rooms in the affected regions to help tackle the situation.
