Motorola has been betting on its new One series of smartphones which encompass new innovations. We have already seen the launch of Motorola One Vision and One Power which bring impressive cameras and long battery life for the users. Now, Motorola has recently launched the Motorola One Action which comes with a focus on action videography. The phone comes with triple rear camera setup, wide-angle lens and aims to put an action camera in the hands of the people who want to produce good quality video content without shelling a lot of bucks for other devices, let’s say, for example, a GoPro. Motorola has introduced a lot of new features on this phone, which makes it a device focused especially for getting good videos. If the Motorola One Vision pleases photographers, then the Motorola One Action will appeal to the people looking to shoot some great videos.
Motorola One Action First Impressions: Design and Display
The first thing that stands out about the design of the Motorola One Action is its slight change in design. The phone features vertical triple rear camera setup with the familiar Moto logo embossed fingerprint sensor. The rear panel of the phone is covered in a polycarbonate finish which is different as compared to the Motorola One Vision. On the front, the phone bears a very uncanny resemblance to the Motorola One Vision mainly owing to the 21:9 CinemaVision display which was the highlight of the previous Moto One phone. There is also a punch-hole on the top left side of the screen.
Motorola One Action First Impressions: Cameras
Without making you wait much, we will talk about the cameras on the Motorola One Action. The first obvious thing that one would do with this phone is open up the video mode and see how you can record videos with landscape orientation even while holding the phone vertically as you normally would in your day to day use. There is also a mode to switch from the landscape mode to the portrait mode in case you want to make videos for TikTok or IGTV. The stabilisation on the device can also be turned on and off, which is powered by EIS. The Motorola One Action also comes with a lot of quirks when it comes to videos like 117-degree wide-angle view and others, which we are keeping for a full detailed review. As for pictures, the Motorola One Action has all the modes that you would expect, including panorama, portrait, among others.
The next highlight of the Motorola One Action is the Android One certification. The device offers a clean UI owing to Android One and still ships the Moto add-on features like Chop-Chop flashlight, three-finger screenshot, which is Moto’s signature features in every phone. The Android One certification also promises Android 10 and Android 11 updates in the future.
Motorola One Action First Impressions: Hardware and Battery
The Motorola One Action runs on the Samsung Exynos 9609 SoC, and it comes with 128GB RAM and 4GB internal storage. The device sports a 6.3-inch Full HD display which is the CinemaVision 21:9 display sporting an 84% screen to body ratio. The Motorola One Action also comes with an IPX2 rating, 3500mAh battery. As for the cameras, the phone sports a 12MP main camera with f/1.8 aperture accompanied by a 5MP depth sensor. The action camera in the triple rear setup is a 16MP sensor with a 117-degree ultra-wide field of view. This camera also comes with the Quad Pixel technology. The front-facing camera on the phone is a 12MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture. Other features of the Motorola One Action include the Dolby Audio speaker, 10W rapid charger which comes in the box. The Motorola One Action retails for Rs 13,999 and comes in two colour options- Denim Blue and Pearl White.
