Airtel Rs 299 and Rs 249 Prepaid Plans Might be the Perfect Choice for Customers: Check Why

Highlights
  • The Rs 249 prepaid plan is the one with term life insurance
  • The Rs 299 prepaid plan, on the other hand, is the one that offers Amazon Prime membership

Bharti Airtel has been growing brutal in the telecom competition going on in India. The Sunil Bharti Mittal led telecom operator has been very active as of late in rolling out new prepaid plans to attract more and more subscribers. This is perhaps one of the reasons why the telco has been able to match the levels with Reliance Jio, a company which has been making a ruckus in the telecom industry. With its offerings, Bharti Airtel is giving a tough time to Reliance Jio and not only in the prepaid segment but also in the broadband sector as well. Now, today, we are taking a look at two unique recharge vouchers by Bharti Airtel, which are perhaps the two best choices that a prepaid consumer can go for. Why do we believe that? Read ahead to know the reasons.

Bharti Airtel Rs 299 Prepaid Plan Details

The first plan from Bharti Airtel which we are going to be talking about is the Rs 299 prepaid plan by the telco. On first look, the Rs 299 prepaid plan by Airtel seems like a normal offering which you would dismiss, but on taking a closer look at the benefits which this plan offer we come to know what’s unique. Firstly, the telco is offering 2.5GB data per day to its subscribers, which in itself is a lot of data as compared to other plans with the same validity. Apart from this, the plan also offers 100 SMS per day and unlimited calling. The validity of this plan is 28 days.

Now, here is the interesting part about this plan – the Rs 299 prepaid plan by Airtel ships with some major additional benefits which includes Amazon Prime membership, Wynk Music access, Norton Mobile Security for one year, Airtel TV Premium subscription and cashback of Rs 2,000 on new 4G device purchase. Including all of this under the price tag, the Airtel subscribers enjoy a lot of benefits beyond simply data, calling and SMS. The highlight among all this is the Amazon Prime offering, which is usually seen in postpaid plans. The availability of Amazon Prime on a prepaid plan is what makes this offering a very unique one.

The second interesting plan in Bharti Airtel portfolio is the Rs 249 prepaid plan, which ships 2GB data per day, unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day. While the general benefits of this plan are pretty standard, the additional benefits are the real deal with this plan. The plan bundles 2GB data per day with unlimited calling and 100 SMS per day. This plan by Airtel is popular for offering Rs 4 lakh life cover, term life insurance from HDFC Life or Bharti AXA. Along with this, the subscribers enjoy Wynk Music, Airtel TV Premium, cashback benefit of up to Rs 2,000 and Norton Mobile Security for a year.

Competing Prepaid Plans from Other Telcos

Now there is also the question of competing prepaid vouchers in the same segment. But, on doing a quick analysis, it is clear that Reliance Jio is not offering plans in the Rs 299 price segment and the plans that it is offering are lower and higher in price and benefits to be fit for comparison. Next up, there is the bumper offer of BSNL, which is shipping 2.2GB additional data benefit daily to its subscribers. Because of this, the plans have become attractive, and some are offering as much as 4.2GB data per day. But, then again, the massive drawback with BSNL is its lack of 4G network and the missing additional benefits. It is because of these reasons – the impressive data volume, and the unique additional benefits that the Rs 299 and Rs 249 prepaid plans by Airtel come off as the most attractive monthly option for the prepaid customers right now.
